A rotating object pivots on its centerpoint. You can rotate an object by dragging its transform handles or by choosing a preset angle.
To rotate a selected object 90 or 180 degrees:
Choose Modify > Transform and choose a Rotation command from the submenu.
To rotate a selected object by dragging:
1 | Choose any Transform tool.

2 | Move the pointer outside the object until the rotation pointer appears.

3 | Drag to rotate the object. |

To constrain rotation:
Hold down Shift and move the pointer beyond the handles.
To relocate the axis of rotation:
Drag the centerpoint away from the center of the handles.
To reset the axis of rotation:
Double-click the centerpoint.
